Forecasting the Effects of Failure Criteria in Assessing Ship Structural Damage Modes

The failure to achieve satisfactory results will cause immense losses in major projects. Nevertheless, the modeling limitations and phenomenon assumptions represented by criteria can significantly influence final results—e.g., damage mode, affecting its quantification—thus representing an interesting topic for technical assessment. This work aims forecast effects of several on occurring due structural loading schemes, such as compression, torsion, tensile tests. Failure are taken based proposal pioneer researchers include those Peschmann (P), Germanischer Lloyd (GL), Liu (LIU), Rice–Tracey Cockroft–Latham (RTCL). A series nonlinear finite element analyses (NLFEA) conducted inputting these into different schemes.
